Advanced ADHD Masterclass:

From Neurobiology to Individualised Care

Two patients can share the same ADHD diagnosis and respond very differently to treatment.

Arousal, reward sensitivity, sleep, and emotional regulation can all shape what improves, persists or breaks down.

Here’s a clinically grounded masterclass integrating behavioural neuroscience, sleep-circadian formulation and individualised treatment planning in ADHD care.

How the Masterclass Has Advanced

This year’s advanced ADHD masterclass moves further into incomplete response, behavioural change, sleep, overlapping syndromes and functional outcomes.

This is a standalone advanced masterclass.

Attendance at the previous ADHD Masterclass is not required.

Earn 13.5 CPD Hours

Your Masterclass purchase includes the full ADHD and Sleep Dysfunction course, giving you the opportunity to earn a combined 13.5 CPD hours, including 5 Measuring Outcomes hours.

Complete both the Masterclass and Clinical Audit to earn the full 13.5 CPD hours.

Event Overview

A patient may know what to do and still struggle to begin, sustain or repeat it.

In ADHD, symptom improvement does not always translate into meaningful behavioural or functional change.

For clinicians, the challenge is not simply treating inattention, hyperactivity or impulsivity, but understanding the neurobiology, sleep patterns and pharmacological factors that shape real-world function.

AT THIS EVENT, Dr Sanil Rege will:

01

Explore why people with the same ADHD diagnosis can differ markedly in motivation, reward sensitivity, arousal, sleep, time perception, emotional regulation and executive control.

02

Explain why knowing what to do does not always lead to action, using the neuroscience of reward, effort, learning, internal-state regulation and action selection.

03

Walk through interoception, predictive processing and active inference as ways to understand differences in attention, motivation, arousal and behaviour.

04

Construct a 24-hour formulation incorporating sleep, circadian timing, cognition, emotional regulation, behaviour and medication effects.

05

Individualise pharmacological treatment using functional targets, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, posology, dose modulation, formulation and timing.

06

Use integrated cases to examine partial response, apparent treatment failure, rebound, sleep-related deterioration and symptom improvement without corresponding functional change.

ADHD care can become too narrow when treatment is reduced to symptom control alone.

This masterclass is designed to help clinicians translate behavioural neuroscience, sleep and pharmacology into more precise formulation, individualised treatment and meaningful functional outcomes.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this masterclass, participants will be able to:

Explain why knowing what to do does not always lead to action using the neuroscience of reward, effort, learning, internal-state regulation and action selection.

Use interoception, predictive processing and active inference to understand differences in attention, motivation, arousal and behaviour.

Relate these processes to large-scale brain networks, including the default mode, salience and action-mode networks.

Construct a 24-hour formulation incorporating sleep, circadian timing, cognition, emotional regulation and medication effects.

Individualise pharmacotherapy using functional targets, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, posology, dose modulation, formulation and timing.

Reformulate incomplete treatment response through cases, distinguishing symptom improvement from meaningful behavioural and functional change.
